here is a post i have been meaning to write for a *long* time -- heather first contacted me back on november 20, two days after this blog went on a completely unintended hiatus... but that's a story for another day. what you should have known months ago is... [drum roll please!]

maidavale makes gorgeous, modern, reasonably priced invitations and printed goods. the dee-luxe model, her invitation kit shown above, is a clever way to include lots of information in an elegant package, and you can customize with a fantastic range of colors, your own wording, and add-ons like ribbons or maps.

she also has a fun blog with great tips, like (for this blogger) random.org, a way to pick a random number without going to this trouble like a dork. nice!

as a bonus for those of you who read that long bit below, here's something i've had on deck for a while now -- have featured invitedink on here a couple of times for great design and all around outstanding invitations, and now the kind folks there have a site called reinked for their eco-friendly line.

these gorgeous rounded-edge (check!) letterpress (check!) tree-free 100% post-manufacture recycled cotton save the dates -- you customize them by using a hole-punch to punch out the date. better yet, the envelopes are made from salvaged/recycled maps and they come with labels including your return address. now that's seriously eco-friendly.
