andrea: four *plus* things for my poppy wedding

readers, please say a friendly hello to andrea of smartbrideboutique.ca!
Hi,
Great idea! Forgive me, I really couldnt stick to 4.
[no worries!]

Floral Themed Invitation SAMPLES
{ pretty poppies wedding invitations by lilribbers }
1) Poppies! Im currently obsessed with Poppies possibly due to the amazing tea set I inherited from my Grandmother. So Id definitely go with poppy themed invitations, these were my favourite of many.

* Tip - Make sure you get matching thank you cards at the same time so you can start sending them out as soon as the early bird gifts arrive.

I would complement the poppy theme with a few more poppy items in addition to the centerpieces and flowers.

Guest book:
Custom Made Guestbook / Album- Crimson Poppy print
{ custom-made guest book/album by enjibeck }

OR I love the idea of creating a poster sized invitation to have your guests sign.

Place cards:
Red Poppies Place Cards-Set of 20
{ red poppies place cards by michellebrusegaard }
[see my feature on michellebrusegaard here]
A matching tie for the groom:
6 silk groomsmen neckties, wedding bulk discount
{ poppy necktie by toybreaker }

2) One signature item of clothing to really make the bridal ensemble pop and accent your theme.

Fascinator:
CUSTOM ORDER INFO PAGE For Custom Orders Click Here, bridal hair piece, fascinator, feathers, vintage earrings, wedding
{ ivory feathers, pearls and beading fascinator by sweetsnlo }

[here i substituted the custom listing, as the one andrea picked was reserved for a bride]
Fascinator 2:
{ Carrie Ivory Silk Flower and Feather Fascinator by chameleondesignsaus }
[sadly this listing has been removed, but check out the other fascinators at chameleondesignsaus]

Necklace:
Pearly Girly
{ Pearly Girly Necklace by VirginiaGeiger Jewels }
Wrap:
French Vanilla Bridal Wrap
{ French Vanilla Bridal Wrap by bonzie }

3) And now for some fun! I did homemade cupcakes for my own wedding instead of cake. Perhaps for a DIY favour, you could combine the recipe for your wedding cupcakes on a snazzy recipe card, with a small canning jar full of the pre-mixed dry ingredients. i.e. Just add milk, eggs etc for your own eat at home cupcakes!
Cupcake Pop Recipe Cards, Letterpress set of 15
{ Cupcake Pop Recipe Cards by DingbatPress }

4) Lastly, we can't forget about bridesmaid gifts. I like the fact that you can get wristlets by babycakesboutique in several different Amy Butler fabrics so your bridesmaids never have to show up to a party with the same purse after the wedding.

Bridesmaid Gift:
Handmade Kashmir Eastern Inspired Bangle Wristlet Clutch Zipper Pouch
{ Handmade Kashmir Eastern Inspired Bangle Wristlet by babycakesboutique }

thank you *so* much for your extensive picks, andrea! all best to you and your new blog, smartbrideboutique.ca/blog/

emilia: if money were no object...

[by emilia of theauburnandivory.blogspot.com
...these would be my four wedding must-haves. My dream wedding is a vintage-inspired autumn garden party with a lot of DIY flair. Of course, if I had all the money in the world I wouldn't have to DIM.
Layer Cake Films Red Velvet Super 8 Wedding Film Package
{ red velvet super 8mm wedding film package by layercakefilms }
Video and photography with a vintage feel is KEY! I would love to be able to fit a package like this one from Layer Cake Films into my budget! Plus I LOVE red velvet cake!
[could not agree more -- i covet this. the film *and* the cake. see my feature on layercakefilms here...]

Vintage Flower Bride and Groom Cake Topper Keepsake Box
{ vintage flower bride and groom cake topper keepsake box by bebox }
I've been seeing this trend on a few blogs lately and I love the idea of having a vintage cake topper. I'm sure there are a few out there for less that $200 but if we've got the cash to spend why not, right?!
Ruffled Rhumba Pantie and Bra Set
{ ruffled rhumba pantie and bra set by lustdesigns }
Probably the most important thing on HIS mind: the wedding night! Ooh la la!

And finally, THE most important item. SHOES! This pair from Eliseo36 actually aren't that price-y at $90. Too bad I have mammoth size 11 feet!
Red

Thanks for letting me participate! This was so much fun!
Best,
Emilia
thank *you* for sending these in, emilia, and all best to you!

four things i would get for my wedding: renee

everyone, say hello to renee (hello, renee!), who kindly shares her four items.
renee:
If money were no issue, these would be my four picks.

The Dress:

{ autumn fairy champagne layered + embroidered lace wedding dress by unitedartistudio }
This is the most beautiful and AFFORDABLE! dress I've ever seen. I'm considering actually purchasing it in the next couple months...

[ohhh, i hate posting this if that's the case, but note it's a sample and the 'special offers' in the store only last until october 14...]
Everyone invited would go home with part of the centerpiece:
1 mini bud vase WEDDING place card holder or wedding favor
{ one mini bud vase wedding place card holder/favor by thefunkyshack }
I would arrange a bunch of these with different flowers at each table.
Cuuuute.

We would get His and Hers mugs with our faces on them for our next day
brunch. Because what's cooler than a mug with your face on it? And
because we're really awesome, we'd get personalized ones for the
bridal party, too.
Handpainted personalized portrait mug - made to order
{ handpainted personalized portrait mugs, made to order by houseofharriet }

[please note #1 -- the link in renee's email wasn't working, so i searched for his and hers wedding portrait mugs and came up with the suggestion above... renee, let us know if this isn't it! pls. note #2 -- houseofharriet isn't taking new orders until the first week of december...]

lastly:
I love this seller and I would commission her to make my thank you
cards in a similar theme as these:
cherish heart notecard set.
{ cherish heart notecard set }

awww. thanks so much, renee, and congratulations!

four things i *will* use in my wedding: amanda

{ shabby wreath by victorianpetals }

more real etsy weddings: Amanda writes in with four things she found for her shabby chic/vintage spring wedding. her comments below!

{ custom order birdcage veil: blush pinks, feathers, flowers by myrakim }

Swoop in white
{ swoop bird in white by therunnybunny }
I ordered 12 various birds in all white to go with our crystal vases & peonies...

{ custom peony and bird invitations by sarahparrott825 }
we were going to go the super cheap route and just do seal-n-sends, but when I saw the bird and peony invites on Etsy I knew I couldn't use anything else!

***
We are having a small wedding (about 50 guests) on the beach in [omitted], OR. I wanted to keep it as eco-friendly as possible and use vintage/vintage-inspired decorations. Etsy has been a God-send to me with not only wedding planning, but gifts as well. I am so glad I discovered this wonderful site!

thanks so much for sharing your treasures, Amanda, and congratulations!

rebecca: four things i *did* use in my etsy wedding

{ bride and groom peacock wedding birds by cornflakegirl }

the never-ending creativity. here's my inaugural question answered by rebecca, who wrote in with four (plus) things she actually purchased from etsy for her peacock theme. the little birds above are just amazing teensy sculptures.

i have linked all the photos here to the individual shops, so you can peruse what these artists are making now rather than work that's already been sold.

Peacock Blue Capri Earrings
{ peacock blue earrings from traceellements }

{ peacocks in love postcards by shoppaperwhite }

rebecca notes the notecards above were custom-ordered in light blue instead of pink -- also, please note shoppaperwhite is on vacation until sept. 27, 2008 :)

{ classic green peacock -- luxury silk-lined clutch bag by redrubyrose }

my own feature on redrubyrose from july is here, great stuff!

plus, since this is from a real etsy wedding, here are two more bonus peacock finds:
Custom Order For Porkchopz OnlyCustom Order for Porkchopz
{ peacock card box and guestbook from bittybooks }

thanks so much, rebecca! (and apologies for those unable to find my email, for some reason i thought it was on the site... silly blogger. you can reach me at etsywedding (at) gmail, or for those who have my onesmallstar address, that will work too!)
